In 1983 I obtained my title of Medical Doctor and Surgeon from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Bogotá, Colombia. I worked as a General Practice physician for almost 10 years and in 1993 I immigrated to the USA. In 2001 I completed a Psychiatry Residency Program and Psychiatric Research Fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. I have additional subspecialties in Psychopharmacology and Forensic Psychiatry. The first subspecialty was completed at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, in June 2002. In June 2003, I completed the second one at the Isaac Ray Center, Rush University. Chicago, IL.
