AMA International School Bahrain COURSE SYLLABUS Course Code Course Title Credit Units Prerequisite : : : : CSCI05 Internet Technology and Multimedia Systems 3 units (2 hours lecture and 3 hours laboratory) COMP03 Course Description : The course deals with the software tools and environments; web-page development tools; interactivity on the web; scripting languages; the role of applets; human-computer interaction; HCI aspects of web page design; graphical user interface design; multimedia data technologies; sound and audio, image and graphics, animation and video; tools to support multimedia development; use of passwords and access control mechanisms; domain names and name services; issues for internet service providers; security issues and firewalls; digital signatures. Laboratory exercises are done using Authorware. I. Course Objective At the end of the term, the student is expected to be familiar in multimedia design, development and presentation. Specifically, the student should be able to: 1. Demonstrate the ability to design and develop multimedia using animation, graphical representation and visual images as its elements. 2.
