Often, gentleness and politeness are considered or mistaken as traits of meekness or cowardice. The strongest people are the ones who are gentle, soft and immensely polite. Discontent is the source of all trouble, but also of all progress, in individuals and nations. Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of those who knew you. Sometimes when I consider what tremendous consequences result from little things-- I am tempted to think that there are no little things. Be ready for it when the moment comes, because great ideas still change the world. Advice is what we ask for when we already know the answer but wish we didn't. The secret of man's being is not only to live, but to have something to live for. Sometimes the beginning of a great thing does not have a great beginning. The great use of life is to spend it for something that outlasts it. Whenever you're called on to make up your mind, and you're hampered by not having any, the best way to solve the dilemma, you'll find, is simply by spinning a penny. No - not so that chance shall decide the affair while you're passively standing there moping; but the moment the penny is up in the air, you suddenly know what you're hoping. The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. Be miserable. Or motivate yourself. Whatever has to be done, it's always your choice. The true way to soften one's troubles is to solace those of others. Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours. Believe nothing, no matter where you read it or who said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense. The likeness of man, once a high ideal, is in process of becoming a machine-made article. It is for madmen like us, perhaps, to ennoble it again. think what messes us up the most is we all have this perfect picture in our minds of how things should be. Fear can hold you prisoner, hope can set you free.
