According to Visa, MasterCard and Discover, there are over 1 billion credit and debit cards in circulation as of 4Q, 2009. With the proliferation of check cards, gift cards, rewards cards and payroll cards, paying with plastic isn't just for high income consumers: ! About 69 percent of consumers have used a credit card in the last month¹. ! "More consumers now have debit cards than credit cards, and consumers use debit cards more often than cash, credit cards, or checks individually.² ! There are over 1 billion credit cards in circulation as of December 2009³. ! If your customers include small business owners and small business, chances are your customers rely more on their credit cards than their banks, investors and cash flow for short term financing†. In short, your customers would like to pay you with plastic. Two Ways to Process VPS offers two different families of payment processing solutions each with unique strengths. EpayOps was an instant success, gaining over 1500 customers in the next five years. In late 2007 Benton Allen faced a financial crisis caused by a combination of overspending and declining processing revenues due to the rapidly cooling US economy. By August, 2007, it was clear that Benton Allen, Inc. could not survive and was unable to secure a new investor. In November 2007 credit card industry insider Derek Bogard and technology entrepreneur Mike Seidle purchased the Internet assets of Benton Allen and re-engineered the ePayOps business model and portal system to be 100% compliant with credit card industry rules and regulations. The new company was named Virtual Payment Systems (VPS), and the ePayOps portal was updated and relaunched in December of 2007. After three years of operation, in 2010, VPS launched a replacement for the aging ePayOps portal system, which had reached its maximum capacity. Rewritten from the ground up, the new VPS Custom Portal™ gives VPS nearly 1000 times the processing capacity per server while enabling VPS to offer customers VPS custom portal service. As a part of the rollout of the new VPS Custom Portal system, the ePayOps.com portal was retired and replaced by VPSpay.com. TM Virtual Payment Systems, Inc. 5348 N.
